The new version of MAC OS X, 10.10 (Yosemite) is expected to be released today, Thursday October 16th, and is currently incompatible with the ClearPass registration system and potentially other services at Rowan.

I.  PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to establish the criteria for the recognition of academic achievement at the University.

II. ACCOUNTABILITY

Under direction of the Provost, all Deans and Department Chairs shall implement this policy and all faculty shall ensure compliance with the policy.

III.  APPLICABILITY

This policy is applicable to all full-time or part-time students of Rowan University.

IV.  POLICY

  1. Full-Time Students
    1. Outstanding academic achievement is recognized when students have grade point averages of 3.450 or better. Students who achieve this average, based on 12 semester hours of letter grades, for any one semester will be placed on the Dean's List.
    2. Rowan University recognizes exceptional academic achievement at graduation. Qualifications for academic honors at Commencement shall be based upon the student's academic average at the end of the first term of the senior year. The average shall be based upon a minimum of 36 semester hours of coursework completed at Rowan University at the time of computation. Honors are awarded according to the following schedule:
      1. 3.450-3.649 Cum Laude
      2. 3.650-3.849 Magna Cum Laude
      3. 3.850-4.000 Summa Cum Laude
    3. Student's transcripts shall indicate academic honors based upon the cumulative grade point average achieved at the end of the senior year. Honors will be recalculated for grade changes that have been approved within 90 days after the end of the student's final semester.

  2. Part-Time Students
    1. Outstanding academic achievement is recognized when students have grade point averages or 3.450 or better. Students who achieve this average based on 12 semester hours of letter grades for any one semester will be placed on the Dean's List.
    2. Part-time students who have completed 12 or more semester hours with letter grades during the academic year (Fall, Winter, Summer semesters) and who achieve a grade point average of 3.450 or better will be placed on the Dean's List in August.

  3. Transfer Students
    1. Transfer students who acquire at least 30 credit hours by the end of the fall semester of the academic year in which they are scheduled to graduate, and who are enrolled in sufficient courses during the spring semester to complete the required hours for graduation, and who have earned a grade point average necessary to meet the requirements for honors will be permitted to march with cords indicating their appropriate honors status and be so listed in the program.
