I.    PURPOSE

Rowan University recognizes that mobile computing devices may enhance teaching, learning, and both professional and business practices and IRT has established this policy to protect the data, rights, privacy and safety of all Rowan users in general and maintain data security and privacy in an enterprise environment.

II.   ACCOUNTABILITY

Under the direction of the President, the Chief Information Officer and the University's Chief Information Security Officer shall implement and ensure compliance with this policy. The Executive Vice President for Administration and Strategic Advancement, Provost, Vice Presidents, Deans, and other members of management will implement this policy.

III.  APPLICABILITY

This Policy applies to all Rowan user accounts assigned mobile devices.

IV.  DEFINITIONS

A.  "Mobile Device" - A portable computing device such as a smartphone such as an iPhone or tablet such as an iPad.
